well the teardown finally began, carport is almost finished. Should be done enough before friday so that way I can start the wire unplugging to get the motor/trans and rearend ready to be pulled out to make room for a nice healthy 351.

good luck with the build. what rear are you putting in ? sticking auto ?
Either rebuilding the 8.8 or putting in a 9, Ill be going manual since the car already has the 5spd pedal assembly in it :D... T56 mmmmm
Looks like a lot of fun! If you need to borrow a lift, or need any help, let me know!
I'm a little sorry I didn't tow mine when everything was out and get it painted, but there's too much body work that I know I wouldn't be able to afford the work.
will do man, might need some help getting the motor all unplugged to get the wireing harness out. seems like a major pain in the ass. then im just going to unbolt the motor mounts slide it off the driveshaft with the trans attacthed. take off a few bolts to remove the core support and slide it out straight instead of all the way up and around the front core support.
engine hoist is a possible that i could borrow from a guy around the corner, i just need to buy a stand.
So once its together your going to trade it in on a nice Bird right?
nope, tried getting a 86 cougar from my girlfriends dad...pretty near close to perfect condition..beautiful car, usual things are wrong with it like the rear bumper cover is just starting to peel through and yellow.
