Hello again!
Do you know how to take the rear shelf speakers grilles out in '87 T-bird? Are they mounted on the screws or brackets? Should I take the speakers out?
Thanks in advance for help!

it's a little bit of a pain in the A$$... they are held on by jam nuts to the rear deck. you have to either have to take the rear deck panel off. or do what i did and drop the rear speakers and between the rear deck and the sheetmetal you will see the nuts and you will have to get a wrench and take them off one by one .. it's real tight but you can get them off that way ;)

If You Just Want To Remove The Speakers They Are Held In With Rubber Strap's You Will Need To Crawl Into The Trunk And Simply Un Strap Them ..very Simple
O Yea Also Removing The Back Dash In One Peice Involves Removal Of The Entire Rear Seat
OK... thanks for your replyes!
My next question is... how to take the back seat out? :)
ummm this is just my :2c: but doing it that way is a lot harder then i told you how to do it..
but if you want to take seat out and do it that way ok..
to start push agianst the lower part of the seat and "from the front" not the top.. and it should pop out then to take the back of the seat out now this is the fun part...the bolts that hold the seat belt units in on the far left and far right hold the seat back allso and then you just have to push up on the seat back and it should come out.. the fun part is getting those bolts loose. and then you have to get the back panel out thats fun too..
read my first post again and you will see it's easyer to do that way

It May Be Easy On A Tbird I Did Half To Remove My Seat Due To Platic Clips That Run Along The Bottom Behind The Seat I Found It Impossible To Remove Without Tearing-but Then Again A Tbird May Be Differnt
Hello!
Thanks for your ideas. I was asking about the back seat removal for two reasons. First I thought I could mess something up in the trunk if I'd get in there to remove the grilles as I weight around 238 pounds. The second is that I have to take the upper part of the back seat out anyway to reupholster it as it's faded from the sun.
Have a good day!

I weight almost that much and don't worry I've been completely inside the trunk before. And the seats are a piece of cake.
