Title: Front Mount TC jy find. Check these outs
Post by: RDOG on August 28, 2005, 03:24:08 PM
Hey guys, I found these in a 83 TC with a front mount intercooler. I have never seen one with a BOV like this. How much boost can this handle and can the springs presure be changed? Also look at the secong item. This was attatched between the oil line going into the turbo. Is this something that is good to have? Check it out..... http://biggrgivens.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album07

That looks like a bypass valve, not a blowoff valve. Not really any way of knowing what boost it take unless you can get the spring out and have someone tell you how much boost the spring is good for.

As for the second thing...almost looks to me like some kind of emergency oil reservoir? I've never seen anything like that. Where on the engine was it bolted to?

It was bolted just above the stock boost solenoid and the strut tower wall. I was told it was an accumulator. I guess it flows oil into the turbo for about 10 minutes after you cut the engine off.
