Title: larger rocker arms
Post by: greg wys on August 27, 2005, 11:00:52 PM
Hi agian cougar fans, I have my 3.8 intake sitting on the bench and am going to port it out (and clean all the carbon out from under the cfi plate) and pull the heads to port as well.  My question is has anyone installed larger rocker arms like 1.7's? and are there any possibilities of binding the springs or bending pushrods becouse of higher pressures? thanks for any replies.

The stock rockers on the 3.8 are 1.7 ratio.  Morana Racing makes 1.8 ratio rockers.

thanks for the info Paul.  I read in one the threads they were 1.6. If I can find them for a reasonable price I'm gonna go with roller upgrades, but Morana is a little pricy.

the stock 3.8L rockers are 1.73, and the stock 5.0 rockers are the 1.6's

morona is the only company to make higher ratio ones i believe, rpm-mustangs.com and supersixmotorsports.com might have them now though

Tommy is not doing to good since he had 3triple heart by bass a few years ago. He is now doing all his stuff from home and has closed the shop but he is still working at stuff just at a slower pace.

Nice is a guy
