Title: ignition cylinder lock
Post by: ludakris9r on August 21, 2005, 01:59:45 PM
can someone tell me how to get the ignition cylinder lock out of my 88 tbird. i managed to depress a pin that i thought was holding it in but it still won't come out. i also managed to break the two tang black cover. the reason for the change is that it is jammed in acc. luckly i could just get it so the insturments turned off.

The iginition lock is ONLY removable with it in the ON position.... Otherwise it has to be drilled out(very carefully I might add)...

A locked ignition cylinder not in the ON position is one of the few jobs I pay someone to do.

I just changed out the whole steering colum. you can do it in about 10 mins and I picked up a new colum for liek $15 and it came with a lock and key. I love you pull it yards.

I sucessfully drilled the POS Stang that had been flooded by hurricane Isabell. Figured it was screwed anyway, not much to loose. Now that I'm brave enough to do it again, I'd probably screw it up....
