5ohbird,
Welcome to the board!  That's a very nice looking car, and you got a very good deal for $450 if it's a runner.  I like the 16" snowflakes, too.  I've got a set on my '83 Cougar, with 55's on the front and 50's on the rear (just a stock V6, though).

isn't the trim around the gauge cluster also TC, or did they offer it in other cars besides the sport and TC?

Holy good god  its my 88 reincarnated. With the exception of the 5.0. Looks good for $450. Wish I could find another one for that price.

it needed a few things.

i did the front brakes with new pads, and turned the rotors. new shocks on the rear, and................A-friigin-C is working!! all i did was pull a vacuum on it for about 30 min, charged it with r134a, and froze my arse off on the way home.

out of the past 5-6 cars ive owned, none had working ac.

one more thing......

i found this custom panel (http://www.mustangmods.com/data/14489/cagepanel.jpg) i had laying around. i had bout a couple of gauges from a guy, and they were in this panel. he only wanted $20 for the panel and the 2 gauges. (2 1/16 autometer mech oil press, and elec water temp)

so i figured i would fit it in there, to see what it looks like. obviously i had to pull the factory equalizer, for it to fit.

Very sweet deal! There's nothing wrong with blue wire looms. I put blue ones on everwhere I could. Adds color ;)

the fake woodgrain radio surround was an option of sorts, my 3.8L car had the brushed aluminum, as did most other cars i see around, and in the junkyard, but there is a fully optioned LX at the junkyard with the woodgrain

Interesting.  Could you option it away?  If you can't then I found a lost birdy in the bonyard in Minnesota.  Didn't have A/C, or cruise, or much of any options.

its quite possible, but i have no idea

ive seen options robbed cars, down to having a single, manual mirror, have A/C

if it didnt have A/C, id probably have the heater box, heater control panel, and all kinds of stuff out of it

they still have the heater panel, and you could get them deleated. I have seen two or three without ac in my area. Also I have never seen that fake aluminum shiznit that everyone is always talking about.
here is what erics site says

OPTIONAL FEATURES     GS     LS     XR7
Air conditioning, manual control    O    O    O
Air conditioning, automatic control    O    O    O
so it looks like they were all optional.
