if by this you mean:
Hi guys. If I buy a 1992 tbird 5.0, would it fit into my 1987 cougar xr7? I really need to know thanks,

If that sounded better, then yes it would fit. Its only going to be about 50 hp better then what you have stock, where you could do a full H.O. conversion using cool cats and get an extra 25.

I think the 5.0 in '91 to '93 t-birds and cougars only has 200 hp.
and 275 ft. pounds of torque. They are tuned down versions of '94
to '95 mustang 5.0s; I read its just a camshaft diference.

It will fit, but you'll need a lot of your orignal 5.0 and '87-'93 Mustang pieces to make it work... For instance...

Upper intake and throttle body are different than the Fox cars(you may be able to work  it out).

Will be a lot easier to use your dist(and all wiring), as the '92 has a divorced module dist.

You'll need a better(true duals with headers) exaust system, The HO won't make much more power through a stock '87 system than the original engine.

You'll need a computer from a '87-'88 Mustang(speed densety), or '89-'93 if you want to do some wiring changes and go with mass air... You could use the '92 Bird EEC(not reccomended) but it will require additional changes the Stang computers do not. Also '87-'92 Lincoln EECs can be used...

EDIT Also the front accessories & timing cover are totally different, will be easiest to swap to the '87 pieces...
