Well, I finally got all of my video clips filed away and what-not.
I spent about 5 hours building the video today. It's over 4 minutes long and is about 44 mb.
The next question is, who can host it for me? I have no website that is capable of such a file, and I'd really like to share this with everyone.
Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me!! Do you have a way to FTP it directly to my website? I can give you my login info.
If jkirchman's suggestion doesn't work PM me and I will set up a FTP account for you on my Web server.
So whats the good word? I cant wait to see it
Jim, I have WinFTP. Will that work?
PM me the details.
Dammit! Get this thing posted already.
ya fo real!!
Sorry I've been away. I just PM'd Zach with the login info.
Zach, I received the CD in the mail yesterday...thank you! GREAT job on the editing. I am having a bit of a problem with getting the file into editing mode in my programs though. Quicktime Pro will play the sound only but doesn't have the component needed to play the video; VLC plays it just fine but I cannot export from it; WMP mockingly laughs at me. I may have to load Premiere on my spare Mac and see what's up.
The video is uploading to Jim's website as I type this.
I was worried there may be issues with that. We do have another option. I could dump the relevant video clips, images, and music, along with the premiere (.ppj) file on to the required CD(s) and send 'em again. You know a lot more about processing this stuff than I do, so you could open it all up and choose the best method of compression and what-not.
The only thing that bothers me about the video is the shaky camera work... I brought my tripod but forgot the mount. D'oh.
Jim, did the video upload correctly to your website?
What version of Premiere are you running? I have 5.0 (I think) for PowerPC, running off OS 9. But I'm not positive...it's a program I've only messed with a few times at my old job. Well, if you want, send away...we can definitely try that. I also downloaded a program that should convert your video over to another format (MPEG or MOV). Once I get the video into Quicktime Pro, it's easy to scale and save for the web.
Yes it uploaded fine. The link is http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/cat_jam_05_final.avi
Hey ! made it Sticky. Will be interesting for many people here...
It would appear to be RT 5.1.
Do you want me to grab all of those files and send a CD? I'd be able to get it in the mail by mid-next week.
For the video:
If you have any problems running the video, you may need DivX codec for your machine. It shouldn't be too difficult to set up.
will see if i get yelled at for watching this at work..
phone rings..
Me: "IT this is Jeff"
User: "I can't go anywhere on the internet and my mail is really slow"
Me: "umm.. wiat 3 minutes, it will be better then"
Let me try a few things first and get back to you by Monday.
cool video, sorry I am cat/bird-less and was unable to attend. I might just visit next year even if i still am car-less (who counts a cobalt as a car anyway?) looked like a good time.
Anyone still have this video online? My harddrive crashed on me and I lost my videos.
Thanks
Did you get Cat Jam CDs?
If so, it should be on one of the discs.
If we can find somebody to host the video again, I can FTP it to them.
You can FTP it to mine again if you want. I just deleted it not too long ago. Do you still have the login information?
I don't think so.
Much appreciated, Jim. ;)
You have a PM.
The video can be obtained here (http://"http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/cat_jam_05_final.avi").
Thanks to Jim for hosting the file.
thank you ;)
Jim your server upload is kinda slow, I can only pull about 10kbs off of you
Not sure why. It's usually pretty quick. They may be doing some maintenance on the web server right now.
