Title: Window vent shades / rain guards
Post by: CougarGal on June 16, 2017, 11:09:32 AM
Has anyone installed rain guards or vent shades on their side windows to keep out rain while allowing the windows to be rolled down a couple of inches.  If you have, I'd love to see a photo of how they look.  My A/C still isn't working and, while I generally don't mind driving with the windows down, it's a bit uncomfortable when it's near 90 degrees and then starts raining, thus, necessitating putting the windows up :(

Well I can tell you that the vent shades meant for 1983-86 cars are metal (stainless steel) and clip onto the window trim. This was probably because we had two different door types (vent windows, non-vent windows). The 1987-88 are smoked plastic and attach via double-stick tape. I'm pretty sure you can use those on the 1983-86 door regardless. Just arming you with knowledge so you can make an informed decision. ;)

The ones I found are the stainless ones that work on doors without the vent windows.  I'm just having trouble visualizing how they might look and I can't find any pictures of them online anywhere :(
