Title: header panel fully loaded
Post by: jcassity on June 13, 2017, 07:11:29 AM
the car is a 87/88 cougar 20th anny and need the following part(s)
header panel fully loaded

Fully loaded is optional , what i am after is the header panel due to my son hitting a deer.
My hood is trash but i have a spare white hood and a spare black TC hood.
my inside metal is bent in minor ways i can remedy easily to line up things again.

1st choice- fully loaded or empty burgandy color header panel.

2nd choice- any color cougar header panel.

3rd choice- any combination of sport or TC nose parts.
*I have been considering putting a tc nose on the 20th but something just doesnt sit well with me doing that to a 20th.

Please if you will call me if you have this part, i am having trouble loggining in here consistently to check PM's.
My home office number is 304 772 3411, i am scott cassity, located in Gap Mills Wv 24941.

This isn't far from me: http://row52.com/Vehicle/Index/1MEBM6039HH661550

I could pull the header and any good lights. Shipping from Chicago would probably be killer though.

No problem. Shouldn't be much trouble to pull. Shipping is where it gets funky :hick:

I did the math on it,, its going to be a 12'' x 12'' x 5' long box.

I will look at lowes and walmart and see what product comes in that kind of box and that way you might score the container as a trash box at your local box store.

I have parts to replace any of the PITA hardware.

X
I have a couple of the TC header panels for 87 / 88 and probably enough of the lights to make a complete one. I have a burgundy one and a light blue one. I have two others that need a little repair. You know where I live!  :)

I have an 85 header panel if you wanna get crazy, lol. I don't have the bumper though, so you'd have to find that to complete the look.

brian,
Mason smacked a deer,,,

You guys need to start shooting the deer. Cheaper than hitting them with your cars :hick:.

brian,, you get it... its amazing
you drive at night at your own risk.

between the hours of dark and midnight or between 4am and day break you are simply rolling the dice.

mason did it on the highway at speed... he got lucky.

ps ... got the message on $ for pieces parts,  will ping you

brian,,
favor pls..
would you be willing to let a shifter linkage on the aod transmission go?
we are converting to floor shifter on my son's coug (my old white one) and i need this part to make things work.

mason can come up and remove for his dear ol' paw if your ok with that , when he can make a trip up to you for header panel solutions.

he would need to remove the trans pan to get at the hdwr on the driver side to remove it "i think".

I don't have an AOD transmission. I have an automatic shifter that needs help, but that's about it.

I just got an 88 Cougar header panel earlier today. All the mounts are perfect.
I've shipped lots of them.

I know it won't last long. It's the only 1 I have.

Figure I'll chime in - I have an AOD floor shifter that was pulled out of Vinnie's car.  I also have a pair of headlights (definitely) and I believe side markers (maybe) for an '87/88 cougar.  Hit me up on PM or txt me at 815-354-1329 if interested.

Still clearing shelves!

here's what's going on and finally looks like i can get this 20th back in action.
The mystery Ron guy back in this thread has one also along with other stuff.  He's and 87/88 only parts source bird/coug

I planned on spending on the header panel so i'll do up yours on the 20th and have a spare.,,, we need spares on stuff like this.
On car-part.com justin (jayandmustangs) told me about, there is a company that just took control of another company this past jan, the guy said he had six in stock aftermarket repop.  he said that he  noticed them because he used to have a bird and thougth they were for the 83-85.
he said that they were not in the computer but were showing up on line as qty 6 available with no PN.  Called me back and said they have simply disappeared... he suspects someone else in the company noticed they were not on inventory and they prob took them to the land of craigs list or ebay.  they all had thier own serial number though, being they had a sticker on them saying they were "CAPA" compliant.  "CAPA" is on the sticker on my white coug (certified auto part association).
