Title: Rust Free '88 Base Bird.
Post by: TurboCoupe50 on July 20, 2005, 09:23:34 AM
OK guys and gals you're gonna decide what I do with this Birdie...

Unfortunatly I'm having some engine issues with it(swallowed a distributor gear) and I am THINKING of parting it out. What I'm selling at this point is the body minus the engine, tranny and a few other things.

This is an original 5.0 car, COMPLETELY RUST FREE, and already has a 3:55 Turbo Coupe rear and 11" front brake up grade. The Cougar turbines(missing two caps) and almost new tires are included. I've swapped out the lowering springs(stance in picture) for stockers, but I'll include the lowering springs as well. It also has a working Sport buttstuffog cluster and I'll throw in a complete set of Turbo Coupe seats. Windshield is good, no stars or cracks. It does need repainted as the clearcoat is peeling badly...

Now for price... $600 FIRM... If it won't bring this I'll prob fix the engine and race it a little... Or I may gut it completely and send the body to the crusher...

OMG please dont send that to the crusher. Body looks excellent!! There has to be someone out there that would like to get this project running again. Looks like there is already a bunch of stuff done to it. I love the stance.

GL w/ it. Sorry i dont have the time or money to take it from ya.

Man... my '85 actually still has a drain hole in the quarter, believe it or not.  But that door!  Ghaaaaar!  It's unheard of!  If towing a car from VA were practical for me, Tom, I'd be all over it like stink on shiznit, I need a break from red t-birds for a while.

Sorry TC50 ;) I'm going to have to back away from this t-bird. I can't find a transport company who is willing to take on moving a nonrunning vehicle.

I've since found another one that's is appearently in better shape. Although it does cost a little more. At least it's running. The guy was even generious enough to offer to drive it here for me. I think the wife wears the pants in that family as it was her idea to take the trip. :)

It's a silver 87 TC 5 speed. I plan on hooking up something to allow me to handle the clutch. If that doesn't work I have a 5.0&AOD just sitting in the driveway. I hope to have it here by mid september. I'll post some pictures when I get it.

I hope I didn't shag up any potential deals for this car.

Thanks fer yer time n trouble. :)

So thats what my Bird is supposed to look like. Its like a brand new version of mine, same color combo and all. My Bird is rusted so bad I'm gonna have to s it. I got a chunk of metal where the gas tank strap bolts into that decided it didnt want to be on the car no more.  I wish I had had a way to get it here.
