Would a fox mustang steering shaft fit in a 88 cougar?

I would say yes.  I have an SN95 Mustang power steering rack in my 83 with the Maximum Motorsports hybrid steering shaft and it all bolted right up.

The power racks use a different spline and size shaft then manual racks, as long as it's a power to power swap or manual to manual it should work fine.

I can verify that it works, I put a mustang shaft on my bird and it fit fine.

Yes.

I have a Maximum Motorsports MMST-11 shaft on my Bird (as well as MMST-7 rack bushings).....fit perfect.

Cool. This is something I want to do. Pure old fashioned laziness is the only thing stopping me from swapping the MM piece in.

Is there any additional road noise or vibration transferred to the steering wheel with an aftermarket shaft?
