I use a tape adaptor to tied to a hands free kit I got at staples so that I can use my speakers to hear and the mic up on my visor to talk.
the other day I eliminated the problem, I have to turn the radio up all the way to barely hear anything so,, the audio read input or output is messed up on the tape deck part of my radio.
everything else works fine as far as radio & Eq is concerned.
what part would be the fault on the cassette portion ? I never really learned anything about this , its all mechanical / electrical but before I try to repair I thought I would ask. In the meantime I have a spare radio I can swap in.
Look up line in boosters.
More likely then not the cell phone or Bluetooth kit you use has a non amplified line out or stereo connection.
Basically it probably isn't amplified.
no,, its been working for years,,
it just wacked out on me
the radio tape deck is the fault
Ah, gotchya, didn't know it did work before. I pulled the motors out of my old tape deck because it made a plastic gear grinding noise when I used my line in adapter.
Have you tried another tape in it? Maybe it is just dirty.
yup,
purchased another tape, same issue
You could use an FM Modulator for now, if you have one.
But if you are going to open the deck up, I would just patch the tape head directly to a line-in jack. There are diagrams on the web for doing that.
patch meaning I get to keep the tape deck working and add the jack?
People usually just disconnect the tape head and use those leads to connect to the input jack. I suppose you could add a DPST switch to switch between the jack and the tape head.
I didn't really research my suggestion, I just have seen it done on various forums, so I know "how-to" posts are out there.
another deck installed, hands free is working now.
I have a broke radio tape deck pieces part / innards
