Title: fender molding question
Post by: 87tbird5.0 on December 09, 2015, 07:14:39 PM
I just picked up a set of turbo coupe fenders. They are the ones that do not have The curb lights. Also they have no molding on them. My car is a sport that has curb lights. My question is the body molding on TCS wider then sports or are they the same as a sport with different  strips inside??

87-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe molding is the same as 87-88 Thunderbird/Thunderbird LX/Thunderbird Sport/Cougar LS molding but with a red insert instead of chrome. The fenders are also the same as above.

Now for the hard part of finding these moldings this should be fun.

Pull your molding off, trace some paper over your curb light holes, line up on the new fender and hack away.

The trim is much wider then the hole, and even a few slight mistakes will be hidden.

I'd rather do away with the lights all together was never a fan of them plus I get tired of the stupid comments I hear about them. I found one molding hopefully he can find the other one fingers crossed

I really liked mine when I was doing pizza delivery. If would light up mail boxes and numbers on curbs.

I also used to hit the turn signal because the turn signal war brighter then the headlights. I hate the 87-88 front ends.

I like them as well,  it's one of those features that not many cars have, I think they're pretty cool
