But it has 85/86 taillights and 85/86 "feathered" Thunderbird emblems, I'm thinking that it's a VERY late build 84.

That is a 84 Fila Edition with incorrect emblems all around.  That was added or changed by someone who liked them better than the square bird versions.  Or perhaps the rear taillights were smashed, they are difficult to find, so perhaps the 85/86 versions were used and the other emblems changed to keep the look consistent.  The valve covers were repainted in the wrong color, and the trunk carpet was filthy.  Thats a 4-5k car max.

Something is really up with that car. It has 85-86 tail lights, but... It has a third brake light. Extremely late 85 at the earliest, but with an 84 dash? Weren't filas 84-85 only? Even if it was a late 85, it wouldn't have the 84 dash...

There is something fishy with that car. The seats, door panels and trim all seem correct, but that 3rd brake light and 85-86 tail lights have me spooked. I wonder if it was wrecked, and the back half was rebuilt with an 86 parts car? The exhaust also does not look right to me, the split in the y pipe is definitely different then I think an 84-85 car should be. The exhaust I could see changing, but it also has at the very least aftermarket power steering pump resevoir and cap and why would a 30k car need the valve covers removed and repainted?

I don't know. It's almost like they back halved another 86 car.

It's odd that someone would take the time/effort to change all the emblems on the car to the 85+ style. Even the steering wheel cover has a different emblem. The oil pan is very rusty for a 43K mile car. I'm guessing this car was repainted at some point and it has more than 43K miles.
