Ive tried a 84.5" belt and a 94" belt i have an 88 cougar 5.0.
I cant find my records of my belt, but I have the same year and run a short belt. I will post if I can find it.
Run an eliminator bracket and pulley, keep your old belt.
Thanks guys but i went and exchanged the 94" belt for an 88" belt works great.
Yup, I think I ran a 88" belt too. Only reason to get a eliminator kit is to keep the stock sized belt.

Yup, but our mounting accessories are a bit different then stangs. We end up with a slightly longer belt I believe.
I just ask the guy at autozone if I can test fit a belt, get one that's way too long and six rib, then I route it how I need it and electrical tape the slack and use that to find the right sized belt. It's usually within an inch or two if ya do it right.
