Post by: vinnietbird on August 11, 2015, 11:53:54 PM
Is the smaller Fox Stang brake booster a direct swap for the larger one on my '88 Bird?

I've been wondering about brake boosters lately, myself.  With my new engine, I have considerably less vacuum and because of this my brakes feel underboosted.  I'd like to know more about this smaller booster, or alternatively, what's involved in converting to hydroboost.

I need a booster, and figured the Mustang style would be the way to go if it'll work as well as a larger one and I would also have room to install a firewall adjuster for my clutch cable.

yeah works fine,  I ran one on my tbird and the same one on my cougar... firewall adjuster is great btw, adjusting the clutch will now be a 3-5min job

How much vacuum do you have? I've still got 17" with my setup.

12 to 14 at idle. No vacuum leaks, believe me, I hunted high and low for one.

I need to check my vacuum. I haven't done that since I did all the frikkin' work and got it running right.
