Anyone want to buy an '84 Thunderbird Élan with a 302 and AOD?
The car is my daily driver for now.
Car has 87,xxx original miles, no rust and the AC works.
I installed an '87-'88 scooped Turbo Coupe hood on the car when I first purchased it.
That being said the car does need a paint job as the clear coat has started to peel on the hood and tops of the fenders.
The fuel injection harness had a short in the ignition wiring so I converted the car to carb with a Ford Duraspark II distributor... Holley 600 with vac secondaries, a new Weiand "street warrior" intake manifold and the Lokar TV cable that is recommended for a 4 barrel carb installation on an AOD car or truck. Even with the big carb, the car gets 17-20 mpg, just like it did with the CFI.
The stock Ford "premium sound" radio died and I replaced it with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD unit with auxiliary and USB ports and a remote. I didn't hack up the original harness, I used the adapter kit. I also replaced both door speakers.
The interior is pretty clean, but has some wear, as is expected for a 31 year old car. There are no tears in the seats and only one crack in the dash.
The car has been lowered a bit less than an inch on '99 Mustang GT springs up front and I took a coil out of the rear springs to level the stance.
The car would make a nice first car or be a good start for a different fox body project.
I want $2500 or best offer for the car as is. It is located in Roanoke, Virginia and I can travel a little ways to meet people of they are interested.
A quick ratio rack and matching pump to go with the car as well as a set of Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber plates.
