Title: eec power relay
Post by: turbotrav on May 30, 2015, 03:02:42 PM
hello fox fans

Does anybody know the location of the eec power relay on my 86 XR7 originally a 2.3 turbo auto car....I track that down to being bad.
The internet has said in the passenger kick panel near the computer, my computer is removed.  I didnt see any relays there?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Travis

Travis, dunno if you've found it but '86 EVTM shows it under dash on passenger side, approx same height as upper door hinge...

That's where it is for the '87 5.0 harness I have in my TC...

I think you can gain access by dropping glove box door...

I have never replaced one, but I think the EEC power relay not a standard relay. They have a five second delayed dropout.
If you listen close to the dash, you can hear it drop five seconds after you turn the key off.
