On 85-88 cars, ever notice that all the levers on the steering column on elan, LX, & LS models have silver bands?
I saw those on the Mark VII.
There's not much about the '85-'88 interior that I don't absolutely love.
I don't remember seeing them on the Mark VII, but I know the Continental has them too.
Except the column shifter on my LX. For some reason it came from the factory without the silver bands even though I have seen other LX and LS cars with the silver bands.
I have an NOS tilt lever in my parts box like that.
On my crown vic everything was metal and chrome plated. The chrome was starting to wear off and could cut your fingers if you weren't careful handling it.
My Ranger has the square levers, like the 83/84 cars, however, the tilt lever is like the ones on the Panthers, but solid black.
I did notice years ago the yard part I got, didnt match my banded piece.
It went on, anyway. Now its broke again......
