...and I think I've fallen in love:

2015 Mustang GT Premium, 6-speed. 401A (Shaker stereo, etc), Nav, 20" wheels, Guard metallic in colour. I had originally wanted one in Competition Orange but I have fallen for this colour. And I must say, anyone who has criticized the looks of the new Mustang can't have seen one in person. Pictures do not do these cars justice - they are GORGEOUS!
Now I just need the insurance cheque for the Sonata...
Local dealer has one exactly like that. I saw it in person when I took the wife's Mustang in for an oil change. The pictures do not do that color justice at all. Gorgeous car.
The new stangs are starting to grow on me
Just gotta get over the front end lol
I'd happily buy one, and thumb my nose at every Fox car I'd ever see afterwards. Well, maybe not, but I too have saw one in person.
Pure shag, I tell you. I almost needed a moment alone in a dark corner with a box of tissues. Almost.
What I'm glad I don't have...the payments and insurance. ;)
(it's a shiznitty tradeoff. boo hoo...I would if I could. Make mine yellow...the louder the better.)
Yellow is the bomb.
Yep same with me
At first I was like ehh
But after seeing them in person I'm drooling everytime I see one
So this guard color always looks grey in pictures, but I've heard it has a green tint to it. Any truth to that? Looks awesome, BTW.
Yes, it's a really deep green. With the sun shining on it, it's awesome
Yep. It's awesome in the sun. If I ordered a new Mustang I would order it in guard. Since grabber blue is no longer available.
Deep Impact Blue is my favorite color on the new Mustangs
This is guard in different light. See how it's more green. Awesome color.

Suddenly, I like that more than Grabber Blue.
Saw a Mach 1 on the highway this morning, wife said "that is one ugly Mustang!"
Everything was blue...too blue. Needed some black to break it up. Looks like 2,500 smurfs were boiled down and poured over it. Too blue.
I like a little contrast...blue or yellow car, black door handles, maybe a pair of stripes down the middle...bumper to bumper.
Just me. I'd totally rock the Stang in the above post. I'd probably take any color if I had to, as well. Just make it the 5.0 :)
That's the 1st pic of Guard I've seen where it doesn't look gray. I think I'd have a hard time choosing between it and Competition Orange. Both are really nice.
It is really nice in person. That Guard GT I saw sitting on the showroom floor was a base GT with a stick and the track pack. I really wanted to trade the wife's car in on it. She would have killed me as her Mustang is her baby, kind of like me with the Thunderbird. Besides being grabber blue it's an awesome color anyway.

Maybe I should trade my Focus in........
Grabber blue is pretty awesome as well.
I've been after a new Focus ST lately, I think they'd be an extremely fun daily driver and pretty useful with the hatch back. Bad thing about a Mustang as a DD is 1.) interior space 2.) winter driving capability. I don't know if you have kids yet but the back seat is darn near useless in a Mustang with car seats.
I'm 43 and single, so back seats are not an issue. If they ever become an issue I've still got the Pimp Sled and for winter I've got the Avalanche. Got it covered :D
This car will very much be my mid-life-crisis car
No kids yet. My wife wants to keep the Mustang when we have kids and just buy a sedan. So it will end up being Thunderbird, Mustang, Focus, and some sort of sedan in our fleet if/when kids arrive. I can't say I blame her for wanting to keep the Mustang. I even agree with her.
Tell ya right now, we have two SUVs for daily rides....with a 6 year old, a 5 year old (going on 19) and a 6 month old, there's barely room enough!
Not sure when the explorers/mounty got 3rd row seats, but I need one. I can't do a car for a family hauler...I need ground clearance, 4x4, and if possible, enough torque to pull a 4'x'6' trailer with a load of wood.
I also want to keep it in the Blue Oval bunch...I've had enough of some of the gobbledygook bullshiznit Kia has cursed me with...I'm sure it could be worse though.
Funny you should say that. I have three kids now, but we still went out looking at cars a while back. We looked at everything from Viper to a Maserati to a Tesla and my wife finally said, "I really want a Mustang. It's the only car I recognize and say, I want that."
I have my eyes on a 2007 Roush 427, but it's on the east side of the US, and my work travels haven't taken me there yet. It'll probably sell before I get there. My uncle was the definition of "the millionaire next door" and he taught me to be frugal when things aren't necessary. In the end, I'm really cheap and can't spend the money on just another toy, no matter how much I want it. I already have a nice Ram 4x4 and a Minivan to sacrifice to the Illinois salt gods.
Geoff
You are livin' the dream man!!
I have to agree on that, Helva nice ride...
Keep this one away from the mice. Looks good! I have to agree on the color looks awesome
Alea jacta est... The paperwork is signed and things are in motion. If all goes according to plan the very car pictured above should be in my driveway Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Can't wait!
Great choice! The new Mustang is gorgeous!
Well, I went and bought the wife a 2005 Mustang to make up for my buying my 2012 Focus without talking to her first. We shall see who gets a speeding ticket first :rollin:
I almost bought my wife the
same thing. I had to take a last minute business trip and never had a chance to get the cash from the bank...
She wants a mustang that "looks like a mustang from the front" which is roughly defined as 2005-2010 era..
Nice! Now, may the Hyundai be recycled into some new Fords! LOL.
Of the S197 models I think I prefer the 2011-12 style. They're retro but modern at the same time. My brother's got a 2012 V6 and it's a very nice car - plus the drivetrains in the 2012-newer are far better than the 2005-2010. The 3.7 models are just about as quick as the 4.6 3V, and of course the Coyote is much faster still. There's nothing retro about the 2015, but it still screams "Mustang" from every angle.
I'd like to think that Hyundai will be recycled into new Fords, just because so many old Fords were probably recycled into new Hyundais...
I like the taillights on the '11-12 Mustang better than the ones on the '13-14. The '13-14 Mustangs taillights are too black, at least to me.
Really?
I love the look of the 13-14 lights at night
What really looks funky is 13-14 or even 11-12 aftermarket look-a-likes on the 05-10 stangs
05-10 are a lot better looking cars than the 10-14 in my humble opinion. When I saw the '05 on the road for the 1st time my jaw literally dropped.. I had to have one. I do wish my '07 GT had the cushier interior of the newer S197's and that it had the coyote 5.0, but my mild bolt-on 4.6 3v (exhaust, CAI, 93 octane tune diablosport tune) is plenty quick enough for my needs.
I've only seen a few 2015's running around here so far but I do really like them. They look a lot better in person than in the first few pictures I saw. The fastback style rear profile and the tail light design are dead shagy.
Yeah, the '05-'10's look close to the tail lights of my favorite year Mustangs, the 1970...

(it's the wife's '05)
So what's with everyone's wife getting mustangs? I guess I'm behind the 8 ball..
Not to thread hijack, but I just got my wife a brand new GT Premium in competition orange for our 20th anniversary. It's such an awesome car I wonder why I continue feeding my thunderbird addiction!
I was considering Competition Orange, but the only one on any local lot was a Premium with performance package and the lane watch/adaptive cruise stuff, plus a bunch of other fluff. It had a window sticker approaching $55k Canadian. Instead I fell in love with Guard metallic. I had originally wanted the performance package but it's a $3700 option in Canada. I can buy some 3.73 gears and save the rest towards a Whipple. Except I'm not buying 3.73 gears because they'd probably be too short with a supercharger, so all of that $3700 will be going toward the Whipple. Don't know exactly when, but it will happen. Don't be surprised if it becomes a winter project for me :hick:
Oh, and PICS!
My god...what is the forecasted power level with a whipple on one of those??
My buddy is pondering getting one. He works at Ford so he'd get a good discount. Showed him the Guard...he likes it. He's hating the payments though...but he might just do it. His brother messed with one awhile back...it was a test car...his bro works at ProCharger..
I haven't seen any advertised power specs for a Whipple, but the Roush/Ford Racing kit promises power in the mid 600's. I would think the Whipple would produce a bit more than that. I'd be happy as long as I could put a Hellcat on the trailer, and given my car's weight advantage I should be able to do so with considerably less than 707 horses. But Hellcat or no, my main reason for wanting one is that I've wanted a Whipplecharged 5.0 since I first read about them in MM&FF decades ago. Sure, it was a different 5.0, but I can overlook that...
Envy. I have it. LOL
I test drove a new convertible GT premium (Race Red with black top, 20" wheels) last week and fell in love but the wife said the BIRD and the COBRA would have to go. I was considering it but thought better of it. Two cars for one, nah!
two cars that are simple tech based vs 1 car that is ultimately going to have built in time clocks to break down,, you made a good choice.
I drive a lot and im amazed at what I see broke down on the side of the road now a days.
