Title: Front control arm question....
Post by: vinnietbird on April 07, 2015, 05:44:26 PM
I have a set of SN-95 front control arms on my car, so, I know they fit. Now for the question, are the ball joints on an SN-95 the same as ours or are they shorter like a Fox?

SN95 balljoints are shorter than Fox balljoints.

Vinnie,

From what I understand the Fox Birds/Cats have the same ball joints as the Fox Mustangs hence the ability to use the 87-93 Mustang V8 spindles on our cars to upgrade to the larger 11" four lug brakes.  The SN95 ball joints have the shorter ball joint which is also a much superior design to the Fox ball joint.  When installing the SN95 spindles on a Fox ball joint you have to use 0.330" of spacer between the castle nut and the top of the spindle so that the castle nut torques up and the cotter pin can be inserted.  One other note is that SN95 and Fox ball joints can be used in either Fox or SN95 control arms.
