I'm wondering what timing chain is really good for a daily driver with mods. I read over and over that Summit chains are less than desirable. Cloyes has different chains, then there's Ford racing, etc.
With a custom cam, are you going to degree it? Id honestly either ask ed, or see what he offers on his website.
I think Ed at FTI recommends the Rollmaster timing chain.
For what it's worth I have the FRPP adjustable double roller timing chain in my car.
Same here, doing fine for the last 4-5 years.....
Did the FRPP chain fit tight? I had one a while back that was loose even out of the box.
Cloyes adjustable double roller is what I ran in my race car.
The one in my car fit fine. I bought it back in 2007.
I used comp double roller, be sure nuttin rubs up there when ya put that cover back on too. Rumors about sprocket having an extruded step where it meets the cam. Either have a spacer or the sprocket is its own spacer with the out-dentation, Do not install a spacer if the sprocket has that or it will touch. The book said something about lifting the sprocket when tightening so it gives more tension? Mine went on fine so I ignored that note.
