Would someone please help me out with a step by step on how to change my 86 Tbird pedals. It started its life as a turbo coupe, was very hacked up and had a backyard hillbilly 460 swap, and then I got my hands on it and put a 5.0 in it. I've had this car since I was 14, and im 17 now. I've basically stripped this car down to the bare shell and put it back together. I would really like to fire it up for the first time in 3 years but my pedal set up is holding me back. I have the entire steering column ripped out as of now, but before I get too carried away I would like some advice. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
The pedal assembly bolts to the master cylinder booster studs. There's one dead center bolt into the dash frame and one it two brackets that bolt to the pedal box. The column also is held in place by a few bolts on the pedal box
Thanks for the pic. From what I've got apart already I must almost have it out.
Yup, one center of the steering column to dash threw me when i did my t-5 for a few hours.
Yup..it's hard to see, and impossible to get at unless you have a couple of long extensions..
Don't know if you did it already or not, but taking the seat out makes the whole thing a lot easier. I am 6' 3" and HAD to do this in order to get under the dash. I just laid down in there, lol.
I have the seats and console out, It just got a new carpet. I'm 6' 2" so they probably would have had to come out anyhow.
