I'm always up for a road trip but this is just too far away.
Weird combo. Full options except for power pass seat, and leather. I see it has the magical seat color that fades as your car ages so you aren't stuck with the same bland shade of w red for the life of the car lol.
I'm with you...decent price, too far away.
I'm kinda hoping someone from the forum scoops it up. Cars like that at that price almost never show up for sale in my area. They usually end up in the u pull it yards.
Looks like a sport.
I spent some time in Oregon and tried to buy a car on my way home. Didn't work out.
Only 1600 miles or so....
Yeah, that's a Sport, an LX would have the fancier door panels and not the TC gauge cluster.
If it is a true central Oregon car, it will be rust free, as well. It's high desert there and they didn't salt the roads until very recently. Instead, they used (and usually still use) the abundant volcanic cinder sand for traction. I miss the area--one of the most beautiful areas in the country, IMO.
My car was a hertz rent a car from oregon. Found a small baggy with documentation underneath the carpet in the trunk. It was wrecked and repainted the same color red with an 83-84 front end and clearcoated over the red. It was probably rusted underneath the old paint already.
Hey thunderbirdsport, you should buy it and when ya get sick of it sell it to me. That way the shipping won't kill either of us
On a side note, I spent some time in Oregon. My first wife's family was from roseburg so I occasionally check the market on cl there. Beautiful country and no rust
If I could afford to get it here, (meaning, if the wife let me buy ANOTHER car) I would get it..ideally, I'd drive there with a friend, tools, and some parts, do what needed, and drive it home.
Red though..ughh. And I'll never change the interior of another car again. Except for this ed Mustang...and I'm not wanting to get started on it, but it's almost a necessity, what with swapping the wiring over to 5.0 standards. Since the dash will be out, it'll get replaced with one of the gray dashes from the '89 or the '90 parts cars.
The other dash will likely go into my '84, unless I can find a dash for it somewhere...cheap enough and perfect.
