Is there any easy way to get the wire harness out of the car with out cutting and wire?
Engine, dash, body or headlight harness?
Just unhook every connector, take out the green screws wherever there is a ground, and in the instance of the dash harness, it's a bit of a pain, once you unhook everything, it will come out of an oval hole on the driver side of the firewall, below the wiper motor. The engine harness is much the same way, it goes through the firewall on the pass side, and I believe on the TC, the headlight harness is integrated with the engine harness, though I could be mistaken. I do know on the 5.0 cars it's separate, for '88 at least.
The body harness is also about the same, only from the dash back, up the sides in the rear, and under the carpet and plastic.
Just take your time, and make sure to not cut any wires if you plan to reuse the harness.
:)
Dash and ok I wasn't sure on how it was supposed to come out of the whole on the fire wall
there's one ground wire thats a bitch to disconnect on the passenger side inside of the frame high up.....but after that , it's a piece of cake
Pull the dash. The harness comes off pretty easy after that, however, like some have said, the dash harness does extend into the engine bay through the bulkhead on the left side, almost all the way to the battery. Depending on your equipment, you may have to disconnect the washer level sensor from the bottle in the left fender, which means pulling out the liner.
Yup. Just follow every wire by hand and make sure it's disconnected. Once you've done two or three it's pretty easy, but at first it will seem daunting.
Just wait till you go putting it back in. It's like trying to push spaghetti noodles uphill with a bulldozer. Blindfolded. LOL
Nah, it's not that bad, but if you're trying to rush it, it sucks. Take your time, and label everything if you're unsure of connects and where. Pics help too. :)
Harness for front lamps goes on driver's side wheel well and is integral with at least charging circuit.
