That is unique. I believe I will quit while I'm ahead.
:barf:
I see that mod quite often. There must be a kit somewhere. I usually see the t-bird ruined, but this is the first cougar I have seen ruined by it.
I know..that's why I shared it lol.
Not sure if it's the same basic kit, but still, ugly is as ugly does, and that car sure does the ugly, all right.
With the upright Cougar roof line, it just doesn't flow with the rounded front and rear. Maybe the Tbird versions seemed less hideous because of the rear slope..
I keep scrolling back up to the one picture, and it just screams... "I don't flow"....or something like that.
Well it could be worse.
No. No it can't.
Uhhhhhhhh, that is nasty.
I despise these "creations". If you like '49 Fords so much, why don't you just go buy one instead of hacking up a T-bird/Cougar? I've seen several late model Vettes with this done...body kits to make them look like a '63 split window or something. I just don't get it.
It's the "Barrett Jackson" effect. Real classics have been driven out of reach of regular guys, so they try to make do. It's not a particularly attractive thing sometimes, as witnessed by that abomination above, but car guys gotta do what car guys gotta do. In fact that's pretty much why most of us love the Fox Thundercats: They're still relatively affordable. Prices are starting to rise as they become more rare, but they're still usually cheaper than their contemporaries (GM G-bodies, F-bodies, Fox Stangs, etc). It's also why 80's S-trucks are an attractive option for car guys - a lightweight, RWD, semi-sporty-looking vehicle that will easily swallow a V8 up.
