Title: Painting headers
Post by: ISTLCRUZ on January 18, 2015, 07:13:11 AM
Hey guys, I scored some BBK shorties from a pony guy. They were a little rusty but cleaned up GREAT!.. Should I paint these or just go with them. I have read that VHT hi-temp paint will work , but is short term. I know ceramic coating would be the way to go but that is high $$$$$.  What are your thoughts?

If you do VHT, cure the paint in an oven using the off-vehicle instructions.  I wish I had, mine didn't cure right and now it flakes off.

Totally, mine was flameproof header paint, and in the frantic business of first startup and trying to diag my early running problems, they didn't cure correctly.  Do it in an oven.
