Chrome mirrors too. Strange, or maybe not? Custom added fogs...maybe the owner really just wanted a floor gear lever, console and argent turbines? Could something like this be ordered?
A look at the hole in the floor might tell the tale of whether or not it was put there at Lorain...
Repaint. He had it up this past spring. Decent car. Of grab it, but I have ZERO room now.....
Craigslist orphan. Has been on for 2 years
I'd say it's not an XR7. Chrome window trim, base cluster, base door panels, base seats, woodgrain dash...
I say it's just a loaded up brown LS with the console shift option, those ARE LS seats. That looks like the full digital cluster to me. Also, remember that after 86 ONLY the 87 20th anniversary got the high end door panels.
It's just a LS. I've seen a couple equipped like that. People who liked the XR7 but wanted a different color probably ordered it that way. Turbines were added at a later date.
Its a well equipped LS. I spoke with the owner at length last spring before i bought my Silver XR-7. Its a mechanics car. I seem to recall him saying it was front hit at some point but repaired well. A solid runner for sure. I have some interior, engine and trunk shots too on my phone.
I guess I was just blown away to see the floor console setup.
The "old days" of COPO and all that really seemed to continue well into the '80s. That's awesome.
I saw an 87-88 Thunderbird a while back at a jy that I couldn't tell what the hell it was, lol. It had TC/Sport buckets, full console, dual power seats, full digital cluster, auto climate, high end door panels, "phone dial" rims, and the chrome non-TC grille, I think we came to the conclusion that it was a LX.
In 87 you could order a LX Thunderbird in such a way. Not in 88 though.
They should have stuck with the full console in these cars, the consolette sucks!
