Here are my 3 cats. first one is a 1987 v-6 I just got for $550
first ones are of my new 87 v-6 cat.
some damage to the front end that was repaired not too well. the whole header pannel is off of a red cougar. It wasent done by me.
my "#2 1986 cougar". It has some rust and the emergency brake dosent work. Got it for $400
and last but not least my "86 #1" This is my first cougar that was bought for $110. You can see it doing a burn out up by my name.(well it was more of a power brake.)
I know it looks in pretty rough shape, But then again it is. I plan on getting it road worthy with plates and all once again. I am planning a engine swap from a 88 or mustang. This car has been wrecked 3 times that I know of. The first was the passenger front panel the second was on the drivers tail light and the 3rd was on the drivers door. I knocked over a fire hydrant after nearly hitting a wreck when going around a blind corner.
As bad as this car looks right now, including the chrome paint on the tires(I have three younger sisters and 2 brothers, Still havent figured out which one did it). It was driven on the road for a solid 2 years with out once leaving me stuck.
As soon as I get a new set of tires, and some slight engine work(full h.o. swap/conversion) I will drive it as my "fun car". This car is what got me started on coolcats. This car will rise from the dead with a vengance. I will probably get a new passenger door, passenger fender, and knock out some of the tail light till its straight. This is not a show car and it never will be. But as long as I possible can, I will posses this car. If I had to get rid of two cars, it would be the top two. So yeah let me know what you guys think.
Nice collection you have there.
That 87 isn't bad at all. New exhaust?
yep, the ler rotted out. costed $180 bucks. also spent about $90 on the brakes after finding a bad break in the lines.
not a bad collection, now which one is the carputer going in?
prolly the v-6 till I do the engine swap on the black one
update.....
So I got a turbo coupe hood at the junk yard for $40 today :D . I installed it and I will try to get pics. Also I have some 14" mags on the front wheels that almost perfectly match the tires that are on it above. Gives it kinda a meaner stance cause the tires are narrower and smaller. But my camera is acting up, So here is what I gots.(ps this pic looks really fake I dunno why)
My local yard wanted $125 for a hood for my Cougar.
Nice to know you are going to get it back together. You gonna keep allthree once you have #1 back on the road?
yep. First is a daily, second will be a secondary daily, and the last will by my fun car.
Can I have one? I'll give you a 93 Buick Century in exchange ;) .
ahh I was just diggin up some pics, and I noticed that two of my cars have the same plates on them. Whoops... Gotta fix that.
Isn't that why they issue TWO plates???? :D
States like NC, TN, and WV are wise to that stuff, they only give you one plate...
haha yeah. I gotta get the v-6 and the other v8 going now. I am job hunting soon.
Nice collection!
...one of these days I'm going to have a collection! I want a 25th anny cat, a convertible (if I ever find one), and an XR7.
Yeah, most of the neighbors think I am crazy. There is a guy with a 70 something camero that lives next door. Its a v-6 and he swears that it will kill any of mine, even after I finish the H.O. swap. Gotta love chevy guys.
Anyways, having a collection as you people(yeah I called ya'll you people. Bite me) call it, mean alot of work. I have since gotten a new passenger door for the black cat as well as a new ignition, wires and dizzy. It runs now.Still runs like , but if I have to drive it I can.
Fixed the e-brake on the silverish one and patched up some of the rust spots, and broke the window and door handle.
The 87 car(bluish one) I was replacing the water pump, and I messed up, missed a bolt, and decided that brute force was the way to get the pump off. A couple of hours at the junk yard later, I have a "new" timing chain cover, and about 200 bolts(not literly) laying around with misc, car parts on my driveway.
Now I need to finish getting the timing chain cover off, get new gaskets/seals for everything, and put it all back together.I have since quit my job, well kinda quit long story, and you never realize how much money you put into three cars till you have none. So the 87 car is on hold until I get another job/money coming my way.
Oh yeah, its easy to pick up cougars in my area. I may not fix/drive all of them everyday, but I am doing my part to make sure that people know alittle about them. When I find enough people in my area, I will start my own cougar enthusiasts chapter. Maybe just a ford one, I dont know.
I guess we're after the same collection eh? ;)
Looks that way! I'd like to have all three and keep them original.
a couple of updates: I just got two interveiws, and I may even start a third job pending, I will know on Monday. Also, about 3 people that I loaned money forever ago just paid me back. So I will be working on getting the 87 car back together and road worthy. All I really need are the gaskets and some time.
The "#2" 86 car has had a tuneup done and both door handles replaced. Window is in limbo for now. I dont really need it being that its like 50 outside right now.
I am also having my carputer finally sent in for repair. I just have to have it boxed and shipped off to who knows where.
I have all parts for the ho conversion exept the HO camshaft, and fuel injectors. Looking at a 8.8 rear disc out of a turbo coupe. Shooting for 3.55's but I will take what I can get. Also, I will be putting in a tubular k memeber in the car that is getting the ho conversion, aswell as duels. Maybe even a brake upgrade and chassi stiffening. I cant wait for money to start pouring back in so I can get some work done before it starts snowing here again.
I gots some new py pictures.

You cant even tell the windsheild has a big chunk missing and the grill is not fitted on, and it has some red rattle can on it.

both newer doors, the one on the passenger side was just to get me through the winter, the whole latching part got screwed up when someone tried to slam it shut while I had the door hanging on one hinge, while I was changing out the other. the drivers side I hit a fire hydrant in a bad rain storm coming around a blind curve. Hit the curb, hydrant rather then a fender bender. Both doors are off of 84 tc's of diffrent colors.

The tail light is all messed up, it washiznit and smashed in. Mostly cosmetical, but it will suck to fix. happend before I got the car.

this is going to be a new fender, prolly off of a tc, just to say I did. Also damage done before I got the car.
Some rust I sanded/grinded off and rattle canned to hold it through the winter. This car looks pretty rust free, but it isnt. I still have to finish the rails, the fender lips(1 down 3 to go) and alot on the suspension. I will prolly leave the suspension how it is till spring.

the famous my car was stolen signal. I also had to put a new colum/door locks in. Still waiting for a clean solid trunk lid.

and last, what I need to finish up on the v-6car.
anyone ever been able to stand under their hood before? I raised the front end 2 inches.
I actually did get hit by snow, about 4 hours after these pics, so I am prolly done for the winter, maybe even with the v-6 car. I actually found out that my freinds mom, who is in realestate, sold a house to the guy that owns the junkyard close to my house. He says I can have first pic of any car that I specify! I have lots of parts on my list, such as the tc rear, and mustang parts, and as soon as they come in they are mine with a discount!
I did get a job, however it is a graveyard shift, which sucks, but money is money.
I am saving up about $1000 or more for engine stuff this spring.
