Title: Good Card for Old Puter...
Post by: MexCougar on July 06, 2005, 12:16:52 AM
I have and old Acer PIII running at 800mhz. Well, the computer is , old. I wanted to add a newer video card and bought a 9250 radeon PCI, but was incompatible (for some reason, the box says "Pentium IV or higher) and i want some info about video cards that will run in a PIII , PCI bus (doesnt have AGP), preferably those with 32 Mb or more memory. Thanks in advance...

radeon has the best pci cards imo, but you would need 8000 series or lower, look at the all in wonder cards too, more $$ but they are pretty much compatible with jsut about anything.
might be able to find a geforce MX pci, that "should" be compatible..
if you can find it the geforce2 cards are pretty old now but came in up to a 64 MB version, though pci might be hard to find with that much memory.

hope this helps.
