They may or may not have brought the engine up to H.O. spec...and it's got almost obscenely low mileage. Pretty impressive. Still won't fetch five figures. Just another fool that thinks someone out there is a bigger fool than he is.

I LOVE the vinyl tops that have the full quarter window cutout. In black, at least. But this car is very sharp looking. Calls to mind a 1st-gen Monte Carlo.

Speaker grilles on the doors say Premium Sound, but HU is the standard setup, what's up with that?

My car is premium sound, but had that setup.    The EQ was optional.

I agree.  I was thinking maybe $5-6K for the right person.  Which would only be one of us idiots.

He bought a pampered old mans car with a stock 5.0, added wheels, a cheesey GT badge and HO badge.  Car is clean, and nice, worth 4-5K to the right buyer.  XR-7 with a mint Leather Interior would fetch more i think.

I don't  mind the wheels (I kinda like Pony wheels) but HATE the carriage roof. It looks stupid.

WOW! Someone's disgusted :rollin:
9 times outta 10 it's the latter examples posted just now. Covers up half the window randomly.
That window is the 87/88 Cat's shining achievement. It MAKES the car. That's why I can't stand MN-12s...making the quarter window square alone was just about enough to turn the car into a "nobody" in my opinion.

Im thinking the car was some sort of  top conversion done by that listed company, not sure if the 5.0 and GT badges were added by them or not.

I could not agree more!! My main gripe with MN-12's is how much worse the build quality was, despite being about 500# heavier. I remember when my mom got her 1993 back in 2001. It had 105K, but the interior build quality, wow, I remember thinking how the hell did this thing make it to 100K?!

I'd say you're dead on. No way he gets close to that price.

Carriage roofs look STUPID unless they are a factory applied option. If the factory doesn't offer it then the car wasn't designed with the roof in mind.

I absolutely HATE seeing a brand new CTS with a carriage roof and wide white and gold sidewall tires. Ugh. Almost as bad as the Nissan dealer around here that puts carriage roofs and white and gold sidewall tires on Altimas. UGH. Horrible. People who lived through the 70's need to stop it with the 70's car fashions. And gold chains.

This car would have been a nice car, but that roof kills it for me. Woops......

I can deal with and even like the poro red interior when clean.  I guess the base digital cluster was standard?  Dont see many 5.0 with that?

HAHAHAHA ohhhkay that's different. I agree, I have been shocked to find vehicles like those you've mentioned with the softtops. And yes, other gaudy  ends up being dragged along for the ride as well (no pun intended). I can totally understand you being jaded over it.

I guess....those cars almost ALWAYS have a tan-colored top...and it's canvas. This car appears to be vinyl...and in the '80s it was still alive and well on the Panther cars and other baroque luxury vehicles in this country. The 70's was only "yesterday".

I tolerate factory vinyl tops. I absolutely hate any aftermarket/dealer installed fabric/vinyl/soft top.

I like the porno red interiors. When the LS became the "base" model in '87, a lot of things that were once standard, became optional. I think the only things that were still standard were the seat upholstery, and rear reading lights.

I agree with you 100% on the aftermarket ones. Back in 2008, I had a red on red 1993 Sedan deVille with an aftermarket white top and I loathed it!
