Hello,
I parked my TC this morning after a 20 minute drive and noticed a wet spot under the front of my car underneath the radiator. I popped the hood and seen some coolant puddle in various places. I took off the radiator cap and noticed the radiator was 1/4 empty and there was some white sludge caked inside the radiator. It doesn't look like it mixed into the fluid, just caked on the coolant passes. The car didn't run hot during the drive. The engine and transmission oil are clear. The car did over heat a couple of weeks ago do to the fan going out. What do you think this could be?
Its a sludged up radiator, scale and built up from over the years. Replace or have it boiled/cleaned out from a radiator shop. If its leaking, I would just buy a new replacement radiator.
Calcified radiator time to replace it. That stuff can not be removed by a radiator shop. Never let a 2.3 overheat. The head gaskets will go and if it gets hot the exhaust seats will crack faster than you can imagine. Actually what you need is a new radiator with a 180* stat and my fan mods. That will cure you hot running coupe in 2 seconds. That is unless you blew the head gasket. Have a great evening guys.
