Well every once and a while i find something i have to have!!! Me and JR are spending a lot of time together away from the shop. After all the medical issues we have had this year it seems fitting. So off to the car flee market and what do you know. A 50 VINTAGE tool box and i had to have it. It is in fairly good shape and i plan on stripping it and painting it the original color. It is made by MAC and my MAC guy already asked me to sell it to him at twice what i paid. But i already bought new roller slides for the draws and those individule handles for the draws are unique to only a few of there boxes. I will completely take it apart strip it do the body work on it it has 2 little dents. And restore it to 100% original. I plan on putting it in my office because i like it so much. As you can see back then they built those boxes with a lot of skinny draws. Today boxes are totally different. I paid 25 bucks for it and i think it was a bargain. By the way i already bought a set of original wheels as well to complete the restoration. I know i have lost my mind but i don't care . At my age it fits!! What do you think guys?????

I think I have the top in my basment. the handles are very similar.
I like it!
25 bucks is a steal, my pal that lives next door and owns the machine shop Im always talking about....... he has his pops old box at his house. It looks very similar to that one. All skinny draws.
I do not know when they changed the handles but it seems like the ones on this box is very rare. I E Mailed the company and waiting for the production info. As you can see i am loosing my mind when i get all BUBBLY over a tool box. Is this OLD AGE!!! have a good Tuesday guys
Always wanted one of those , like the classical look. Going to blend its very nicely at your workshop.
I had a bunch of craftsman tool i inherited from my grandfather that got jack when i was working on a car in the junkyard. lots of the tools ranged from the 1950's. i was pissed. now i practically sit on top of my tool box whenever i go junkyarding.
Nice find. Looks nice enough to clean it up and leave it alone if you wanted to. I am getting to the point where sometimes vintage items in nice original shape look better to me than when they are redone. Maybe I am just getting lazy.....
I wanna do up a 50s era fridge and make it energy efficient for my basp00get. Looking forward to seeing the results!
That would be sweet.....
Freak everyone out....and tell them u love 80's cars and antique iceboxes. ...LOL
Travis
Some of those old fridges were really sweet looking. They actually had some style to the shape and lines.
That is a great idea. I like that very much. How about a pen 15e or pepsi fridge. Or how about an old JUKEBOX!!
