Title: Parting out 1988 Thunderbird LX
Post by: 88lx50 on May 31, 2014, 09:43:39 PM
Hey guys - I finally found a replacement for my 88 Tbird. She served me well over the years but rust has gotten the best of her. It was a HO conversion with a TC rear. I am keeping the drivetrain, but everything else is up for grabs within reason. If you are looking for a large part it will need to be picked up. I will be listing parts here in a few weeks after I get her apart, but if anyone has anything in particular they need, let me know. The car is a factory v8 with a mass air conversion. I have Chuck W  motor mounts up for grabs. It has a factory console in it, as well as dash trim without the wood grain. It is a sunroof car, and the motor works on the sunroof. I can ship within reason. Let me know what you need and I will let you know if it is available.
The e brake set up is Turbo coupe and all the cables were replaced within the last few years. I replaced the hardware under the driver seat for that set up last year with a good donor because the old set up rusted out. The dash is full digital.
I also have a set of unused subframe connectors for the car for sale with the seat support. They were made by Kenny Brown - and are specific to the Tbirds and Cougars.

Does it have the metal trim on the rear window? I'm looking for the lower piece with no breaks, bends or cracks.

I think the trim around the rear window is rubber IIRC. I will take a look today.

Cool. Did the car have power recline? If so is the plastic side trim on the seats un-cracked? If so I would be interested in the driver and passenger side front seat side trim.

Just an update on this. The car is off the road, engine and trans are pulled. I am taking off what I think are still good parts and junking it this week. If you guys need anything, let me know.
Parts that I am taking off in case you guys are interested - make offers.
Headlights - was an offer made on them
2 right side tail lights. left side is cracked
right side quarter glass
arm rests - both sides
console
trim for stick shift car - both mounting points are intact and no cracks on it
turbo coupe rear brake conversion stuff - cables, adjuster assembly under seat, etc. all in decent shape
silver dash trim  - both pieces around gauges and console area
full digital dash gauge pod - all of it works
someone was interested in the fuel level sending unit - I will pull it if there is still interest in it.
power seat tracks - I have someone interested in those
Chuck W motor mounts for 5.0. New bushings needed, but otherwise solid. Chuck built a nice piece that held up to 8 years of abuse.
Like I said -anything else you guys need let me know. The car has to go so let me know soon.

I will get you a pic of the door panel. It has the TC style panels, but the insert is not cloth. The panels are not so great, but the arm rests are in good shape, as well as the map pockets.

Vinnie - how does 45 shipped sound on that trim piece for the shifter? I will get you a pic. The boot is still attached and in decent shape.
v8Demon - seats are shot. I have some good body parts that you might want. Passenger door is good. Both pieces of door glass are good.
I also have a set of Kenny Brown subframe connectors with seat supports that are pictured earlier in this thread that I can make you a good deal on if you pick up.
