I hate all those Stupid old Fu**tards driving on the road.....
My 20th is dead...... Peace to his soul..... He didnt even live fully his 9 lives.... (I was the 8th owner)
--> R.I.P. <--
Born April 11 1987
Died June 30 2005
Will post pic As soon as i go to the Towing Co. to take it.
Me and my friend are O.k.... Only I got scratches on the forehead from after I hit the Sun visor while holding my iced tea can (which i save btw.... :giggle: ). This No driving skill was good for the headache of his life... he was bleeding like a murdered rooster when he got out of his 2004 Camry...
The worst part is : We both live within 800m of were I hit him.... :disappoin
He had a stop to do (I didnt) at a transverse street, he looked at me but he hit the gaz anyway. (The way a grandpa do to get out of a church parking lot.)
So i Plugged him solid at 60Km/h bending the whole front of his car with at least 25 feet of tire mark with the 4 wheels.
So long my brand newmustang radiator i installed yesterday.....
Why!.... I Say Why!.... :bs: :sorry:
It was my 3rd 20th anniversary in the last 7 years and they all ended like this.... because of idiots...... :disappoin
My front end is bent like i hitted a wall.... The fan/radiator/bumber are now an integral part and my wheels are stuck, surounded by what is left from the fenders....
Now I need to relax, Smoke some fatty and cry a little..... :yuck:
Sorry to hear about that. Are you going to get another one?
This is scary 3rd one this week. Makes me not want to drive mine.
Holy , it's like the FVC curse (those of you who frequent FVC will know what I'm talking about) has stricken our community! Drive careful, everyone!
If this keeps up we will need a new section on the forum.
R.I.P.
with before and after pics of the car. The date the car was born and died with it and misc. info on the car.
Yes, i will try to get an other one..... I'm a real fan of those.....
I'll try to arrange with insurance to keep the car after they pay me (minus Storing, towing etc....)
The bad part is, since those car are already tough to find, A good condition one is a miracle by itslef.... (At least here in quebec where the salt is king on the roads in winter)
No kidding.... i'm looking everyday in the newspaper for Cougar for sale.... The last one i saw was mine a year and a half ago..... all others i saw were +1990 And even if i find a complete one in a yard, the law forbid em to sell me a car "as is". I will need to part it out and reassemble it at home because they dont have vehicle selling license.... this is totally crazy....!!!
Too bad you live that far away from me this one showed up in the local trader last week.
1987 COUGAR 20th Anniversary Edition. 5.0L HO. 5 sp. 3.55L. Fun car. Needs TLC. $1250. 309/712-3588 cellular; 309/497-0073 Peoria.
I don't have pics sorry.
Really sorry to hear about your Coug, but glad to hear you are OK...
Maybe it was the end of the quarter(April/May/June) rush to take out as many old Bird/Cougs/Lincs as possible... I'm gonna wait till Sat(7/2) before I drive mine again...
Really sorry to hear that and glad your all okay.
What is it with people who don't pay attention to how they drive? My sister was in a similar accident some years back which destroyed her car. All because other moron drivers don't pay attention.
Wow, Cat's and birds are dropping like flies on these boards...
There's a 20th here for sale that's been for sale for a few years (at least five). I don't know how much he'll take for it - the last time I talked to him it was $1500, but it wasn't worth that much then. Sitting around for five years has been very bad on it. However, if you do end up getting yours back from the insurance company this one might be worth getting to build a good one out of the two, and Halifax isn't that far from Montreal...
BTW, the car is still yours until the insurance company totals it, and if they try to place you at fault the car is yours as well. Had this been me I'd have had it towed to my place instead of a junkyard - that would eliminate storage fees AND give you levereage in getting the car back. I learned this lesson when I wrecked my Cougar - by the time the dust settled the storage fees were higher than the value of the (wrecked) car.
You can still have it towed back to your house if you want to pay the current storage fees and towing, to prevent the fees from climbing higher. Remember, it's still YOUR car! And you should be able to add the towing/storage fees to your insurance claim, since they are a direct result of the accident.
Ah yeah ("The FvC curse returns again!")
What a bummer. I hate to hear about a 20th eating it.
I almost bought a 20th about four years ago... until the owner told me that it had a serious engine fire in the late '80s.
This is bull sheeot.
You've got my sympathy. :sorry:
sorry to hear this,, its strange hearing these stories and not being able to atleast help out with something. Let us know how you make out with the JY,, maybe you aught to have it pulled and salvage parts then send it back.
I wish i had more money on hand right now.....
I found the nicest deal on earth..... (at 4 hours from here)
Check this out :
1968, 289 4bbl.... 4500$
Sorry to hear about your troubles bro.....
Good luck in your search. Hope you find a nie one!
OH yeah, STOP SMOKIN FATTIES :giggle:

Glad my bird aint roadwothy yet(gas tank ready to fall off).
all i can say is what has been said ...........sorry
That really sucks man, another one :toilet: for ya. Now ya gotta make sure the next one is better, if at all possible.
Here's the pics....
Sensible minds must abstain to look further.....
Wow. When you kill one, you kill one GOOD!
That is considerable damage.
It kills me to see a 20th eat it like that.
Try unclehenrys.com they are a local sales flyer...usually a couple of t-birds, and cougars. It's where I got my '86 from
ow. just ow.
Bah, that'll buff right out. :D
sorry man, I cried for you last night.
That's what i tought... :bs: :flip: :giggle:
I'm not trying to make light of you loosing your car though. I sympathise, man.
isnt there a way to rebuild something like that?
Not unless you want some big problems down the line with damage like that the frame is very likley bent.
And i feel for you man
I feel for you as well
Just saw this thread today...
I feel your pain, man. It is a fear always lurking in the back of my mind that something like this might happen to Roxanne (http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showthread.php?t=12288) someday.
You say this was your 3rd 20th Anniversary Edition? I wish you luck in finding a good one, but please dont' ever drive it! :giggle: Just kidding.
Hope it all turns out well. The important thing is that no one was hurt very badly.
You could probably fix it by replacing everything from the firewall forward, and if it were ten years older you probably would. Right now though the car wouldn't have enough value to do that kind of surgery to (unless it has big sentimental value).
Personally I'd keep it until I found another Cougar, and transfer the 20th parts into that. Maybe even upgrade to an XR7, but use the memory seats, badges, etc. Yes, it'd be an innacurate clone, but it'd still have to be worth more than a genuine but smushed 20th...
The best of both worlds "Power and Style". I agree that is what I would do.
I guess i'm the luckiest unlucky guy in the universe....
Someone posted a 20th for sale at 700$ near me in local newspaper...
wow... everytime i totalled one, an other appear... it must be a sign..... or the continuity of the curse i got with the 20th anni.... who knows... :giggle:
The 1968 I found recently at 4500$ nego* ("dealable" in english?) really tempt me...
If the frame is still straith and strong (it looks like and an old man own it...), I gess ill go for it instead of buying a 4th 20th....
Go Get It !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
****ing stupid insurance jerk...
.... They wanna give me 800$CAN for my car and they even told me its a VERY great offer and i should take it.... Those SOB are totaly crazy....
Kelly Blue Book and NADA quote it between 1,050 and 1.150$US.
i have more than 2000$ in invoice, the interior is new. Now after I yelled my lung out of me after em, they told me to send copy of my invoices and proofs that I did the job myself on the car but the evaluator is going 3 week off so they wont be able to threath my new demand before that....
Last insurance co. I had gave me 2400$ 5 year ago the exact same car in a worse state than the actual one...
I'ts not my fault but I loose everything anyway.... This is totall :bs:
My summer is ruinned.....
I'm already feeling better just by typing about it.... :(
