Title: Not a car thief...LOL
Post by: kmhracing on April 23, 2014, 02:52:21 AM
Hey guy's,
Was going to use my 5.0L in my ranger but the cost is just to much right now. Anyhow love these cars. My 84 T bird had a encounter with a stone wall last year and has been sitting here just selling parts little by little before I s it.

Anyhow I cant find the keys now. What's the easiest way to get it running to show a guy that the motor runs? Hope this don't get me in trouble with the admins but need to hotwire it. The cars on blocks. I can bypass the shifter lock just need to get it started before I pull the motor for this guy.

Nice I still was able to get back on this site...

Anyone need some parts before It gets crushed let me know 84 Tbird with 5.0L. Front end damage.Rather give some parts away for cheap then just crush them.

#FORD For Life

Moving to http://www.explorerforum.com since I just bought a 97 5.0L explorer

Thanks for all the help from everyone on this forum over the years

Hey hows it going.  Drilling out the key and tumbler takes a little time (hour at most) but once you do that you can push the ignition switch forward and it will start.

Do you have a floor shifter car?  If so do you have a center console?  I need the piece that goes around the shifter.

Unbolt the ignition switch from the column, move it manually to start.

No sense in assing up a column in case someone needs one.....

Unless they buy it, I wouldn't drill it out unless you want to or know how too. I have drilled out a lot of cylinders (Focus) lol. Like it was said above just unbolt the switch and move it manually.

It may have tamper-proof Torx screws, but any decent place that sells tools will have them. I can't exactly remember the size...seems like it may be a T-18..?

Vise grips will do the trick on the "tamper" proof bolts.  Worked on my Bird and Mustang.

security torx is the proper name of the tool you need
