I was missing mine, and located another recently. There appears to be more to the cover than just the plastic cover that hides the coil, which is the part i just located. I think this was a case of service dept techs just tossing them in the trash as useless and in the way? You almost never see them in cars. Anyone else have the complete cover as shown in this photo? (The area just below the washer fluid fill area)

The silver cougar I used to own had one hanging out in the spare tire well of the trunk. :hick: so I stuck that one on the red car!

There were two different styles: the longer one shown in your photo above, and a shorter one that just covers the coil. That latter one seems to be found on a turbo-4 engine.

Eric, i own the shorter one, the longer one seems to be the same as Mustang also. Are they both correct fit for the 87/88?

At first I thought you were talking about the distributor boot, but then I read the rest of the post. My Ranger has a soft flappy thing over the coil.
