Title: O2 sensor harness....
Post by: vinnietbird on April 13, 2014, 09:34:07 AM
Other than length, what's the difference between an '88 Thunderbird 5.0 harness and a Mustang GT (Fox body) harness?

I don't think there is a difference.

I need a new one. I think I'll grab a Stang harness and try it out then. Thanks Kitz.

There are differences.

If you use a Mustang harness, be sure it is for an automatic transmission car.

Maybe I'll just find one from a Thunderbird. I have a 5 speed now, but the harness never gave me an issue due to the swap.

I think you can use the auto on a stick, but not the other way.

Forgot you went 5 speed.

You can use an auto harness with a manual trans, but not all functions are there.  Are you still running the main harness that came with the car?

Yep, same main harness. I'll wait til I can get one made for our cars.

If I remember correctly most everything was the same but a few connectors for the tab and tad solenoids, and the length of the O2 sensor harness. I made some plug and play extensions for mine to work when I changed the exhaust.
