I finally ordered front and rear springs from an SN95 mustang for my 88' TBird. I feel so high up driving around, I want to feel more down to earth :rollin:
My rear is already a little lower than the front stock, so I may experiment a little and try lower springs on the front and see if I can't level it out.
Can't wait!
I'm interested to see how it looks. The front end on my Thunderbird went up a bit when I swapped in the Edelbrock heads (lower weight). I'll probably swap some SN95 GT springs in the front on mine to drop it down an inch or so at some point.
Cant wait to see the results.
Got the springs yesterday! I want to get them on this week but it's suppose to rain so it may have to wait a few days.
Cool!! Be sure to get some before and after pics .
X2, and take height measurements also.
I finally got the front Mustang springs on the Bird; I haven't decided if I like the little rake my car has right now. It dropped 1 3/4", and after driving it, it settled to about 2". I'll have pictures up soon!

This is with SN95 front springs and stock in back. I'll have to find time to do the rear. But yeah, looks pretty great compared to the picture in my signature.
Looks good. From what I can tell the front and rear are pretty level with the SN95 springs in front and the stock LX springs in the rear. GT springs correct? What year SN95 GT? Also did it take an alignment without caster/camber plates? Just wondering ;).
His is pretty similar to how the front of mine sits with '97 GT springs. There's no rake to mine though, with the '97 GT springs and nothing in the trunk. Dead level. Probably an inch and 3/4 drop, maybe two. Never did measure, but it sure isn't looking like the 4x4 that it did before i swapped everything.
I've got some 2000 GT springs waiting to go in sometime, although the gain and little extra drop won't be worth the trouble, probably.
I might just sell them and try to find some used Bullitt springs for when I do decide to get back on board..err, 'Bird.
The front springs are 94-95 SN95 GT springs with the stock LX springs in the back. I feel like it has little rake, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm comparing my old height too much.
And I didnt have to do any CC plates, the ride hasn't really changed at all. I'm going to get an alignment when I decide if I want the GT springs in the back.
It's hard for me to tell if my car is level now, or if it has a little rake. It looks good either way.
I am thinking I may use Mach 1 springs if I decide to go lower, and then do 94-95 springs in the rear. But this would be in the future.
I see. Cool. I didn't want to buy caster/camber plates as I've got a couple year old strut mounts on my Thunderbird. I'll just pick up a set of front springs for a 94-95 Mustang GT and swap 'em in when I get a chance. Thanks :).
Lou, I'd go for the newer year springs, as you've got the aluminum heads...seems like the newer springs have a bit less installed ride height. Might be a little more gainful.
Then again, I have iron heads, and mine came down pretty nicely. If I had the '00 springs in now, I'd have a better comparison, but alas, the Sport is on the back burner at this time.
I might go with 99-04 Mustang GT springs. The front end on mine came up a bit (~1/2 inch) with the swap to aluminum heads.
Hi Gdawg148:)
what are you using for Struts & Shocks? swaybars? with this setup?
thanx :)
I use stock Sport/Turbo Coupe sway bars, Monroe shocks up front, and air shocks in the back for a Mustang with ChuckW Mustang shock adapters.
As far as I know, everything is stock (or been upgraded with wear over time)
