After about 18 months I'm finally dropping the car off for paintthis afternoon to rectify the defects from the LAST paintjob.
Pensive apprehension abounds.
Good luck, we need to seem pictures.
Yup gl and lots of pics lol
It will be ok, small breaths......
I'm more scared of the road. I dropped it off. The side road at the collision place wasn't plowed.....That little 1/2" of snow made it slippery over there. Every stop necessitated a shift into neutral..... That and the idle was cranky as all get out.....These cars were great in the cold when stock. This one don't like anything below freezing. Everything I've done to this car has geared it towards running better in warmer weather. Bigger rad, tranny cooler, lower temp thermostat, fan, etc...
Winter makes the Demon a grumpy banshee.
Been there. I hate leaving my car anywhere, especially a body shop. When I had my XR-7 painted I was worried, but it turned out great.
I was more fearful of having the car slide into another car while I was parking. It almost happened. They apparently never really plowed too well over there and with all the back-to-back-to-back snowstorms, there's just enough ice under that snow. I watched a 3 axle tow-truck go sideways on light throttle on the same stretch of road.
My Thunderbird will go sideways at 40mph in the rain with any sort of aggressive throttle. Scares the bejesus out of me so I don't drive it in the rain. I can only imagine how scary it would be in the snow. Probably like your Cougar, since we have similar engine/transmission combos.
Good luck with the paint job. Hopefully they do it right this time.
Etch primed. The trunk may be salvage-able It was a couple of large fish eye spots. He's gonna wheel it and clear it.

Didn't the roof have some sort of bondo/filler issue?
And the door and the rear quarter. The door molding didn't lay down right either which was frustrating as it was a perfect piece I bought off a member here. It was FLAWLESS!
In the booth....

Hopefully it looks great after the paint is laid down :).
Yes, Paul will be driving that car wrapped in plastic from now on to protect the beautiful finish underneath. He will remove it once home and the car is in the garage to admire the shine, then replace each time he takes her out..... :-)
im working on an invention for that........ stay tuned. the PTO has a similar patent number but not exactly like my idea.
allows you to easily cover your car after you get out..kinda built into the car.
my inspiration... F'ing meow paws all over my fresh wax and wash,, that totally makes me want to get rid of these stupic cats.

paint looks really good.
My wife gets her Ghia done this year to.. 20th willl come last i suppose.
by the way,, remember you , eric and i did a lot of molding research several years ago ,, posted some "like" types with pics.
i still have that info if you need it.
I still got that moulding info too ;) In fact I have a place VERY close by that can get it.
The tires are Maxxis Marauder MA-S1's. Fronts are 235/60-15 and rears are 255/50-15. They have an H speed rating. Great dry and rain. Pretty good in the snow. Better than my Pirellis I previously had were. Horrendous on icy surfaces. Ive driven on slick ice surfaces enough to know that no tire is GOOD on it. These are below most in that one regard. The car probably won't see ice anywhere but the driveway anymore anyway.

Please excuse the white flecks. Wax remnants. Gotta do a full detail on the wheels and lower portion, the hit the rest with a spray detailer and q-tips.
Lookin good !
Looks awesome :).
F-n nice. I have those same quarter panel emblems. Your car looks extremely nice! Ive probably already asked, where did you get that front bumper Cougar emblem?
