Seen it.  It kinda breaks some of the Zombie rules, but if I'm not mistaken, didn't George Romero make those rules?  I guess he'd be allowed to break them if anyone was. It's a pretty good movie, but I honestly liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead a few years back a bit better.

Something else I noticed... it seems like Americans are grabbing at any and every puppiesanese horror movie they can.  As I recall, The Ring, it's sequel, The Grudge and now Dark Water and one other are all written by the same person. (I noticed this when there were two previews in a row that flashed "...from the Author of The Ring..." Perhaps a puppiesanese Steven King (Steven Ling?)  In all seriousness, though, it looks like American film makers are trying to cash in on these puppiesanese horror films.

shiznit, speaking of Zombie, there's a new Rob Zombie movie out that seems to be a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, but it's titled The Devil's Rejects.

Regarding that article... I love how it says
Quote
Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.

... yet the dog in the picture looks ready to kill.

That dog in the photo is a wolf. This whole story sounds like BS to me. :dunno: Very Onionesque.

Anyway, Shawn of the Dead was the best Zombie movie ever made! :flip:

Im not relgious in any sense of the word yet this is morally incorrect. And if we do try this on humans

"US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years"

yep the news company that reported this is in au not the actual tests and such.

If this technique would actually work on humans, it's hard to believe that it's as easy or successful as the article makes it out to be. I'd suspect there'd be enough brain-damage to manifest itself in human cognitive function, which is way more intricate than a dog's. Even a test monkey wouldn't be an accurate reflection of how this procedure could affect a human's brain ... which is a problem if these scientists actually want to try this on a human. If a person's brain is deprived of oxygen (ex. a stroke, or when the heart stops), cells start to die rapidly. The whole process would have to be completed in that time frame, otherwise who knows what kind of disability that person would suffer from if they were resuscitated (think Terri Schiavo...).

I think it would be cool though if this technique actually is made practical, and "kits" start to pop up all over the place like AEDs.

Can I ask?  What the shiznit is a boffin?  Mad scientest?

If I'm not mistaken, I thought I saw mention of the city of Pittsburgh in there. That's too close for comfort when it comes to Zombie-Wolves.

American definition of it: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=boffin

Not sure what the Brits and Aussies have twisted it into, though.
