I'm back in a Ranger again, this is #3 for me. What can I say, I love them! It's an '87 XLT Reg cab, 2.3 & 5 speed manual, if I run into a big chunk of money, I'd like to drop a 2.3T into it, probably just a non-intercooled one. A V8 IS fun, but something with a bed is more practical, plus I missed shifting gears.
yeah, if you kept it for too much longer you would have to start fixing things ;).
could have thrown a t-5 in. I've really thought about buying a little ranger, but can't talk myself into it.
I did put some money into it: new plugs, wires, both wheel cylinders, 3 headlights, 3 tires, front speakers, a radio, new console plate, and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of gas!!
I had an '87 XLT X-cab that I dropped a 2.3T and a T5 into. Drove it for about a year after the swap. I thought the 2.3T swap would help me like driving a truck every day. I was wrong.
I had an 83 ranger that somebody put a 289 in. It was fun, but I'm too fat for a truck that small (especially since it had subwoofers behind the seats making even less room).
