Title: Looking for this vacuum T
Post by: OfficerJoseph on January 22, 2014, 05:15:44 PM
So last night the brittle plastic that once made up this vacuum T finally broke...

I haven't found anything just by running the part number yet. I was wondering if anyone new of somewhere to get it from or something similar.

Any efi 5.0 mustang/tbird/cougar/Capri will have that. In a pinch you can use a vac tree from a 2.3 Stang

Brand new.....

Plastic parts such as these I've taken to using new or unused.  The heat cycles under your hood dry out the plastic and make it rather brittle.

also a sign of bad motor mounts. extend the hose to your new part, and test/replace your motor mounts if necessary.

I have built a new one with a metal pipe, a bunch of plastic vacuum fittings and some electrical tape to get me by a few weeks before. a few times pulled apart a ball point pen and stuck it in the vacuum from manifold to the map sensor, wrapped in electrical tape to get me home.

That's funny you need that. I was going through the shop and found one today. It's yours for $15 shipped.

I read your post and thought of this:

Older cars can make us do creative things.

True. I saw an aftermarket piece made from anodozed tubing and screw in vacuum inserts. Nice stuff.
