Title: Possibly picking up a TC parts car....
Post by: OfficerJoseph on January 09, 2014, 03:06:11 PM
A friend of mine found this TC parked behind a shop. It was a project that never really took off and the owner wants to unload the car now. I tried just getting some parts off of it but he was pretty adamant that he wanted to sell the car and that $800 was what it was worth.

Anyway here are some pictures..

I'm interested in the rear end, hood, and front bumper. I was hoping I could get a members input and maybe see if anyone else needs anything off the car.

Its in Baton Rouge LA

and its a 5-speed car with 130k miles on it. The guy says the guy he bought it from said it ran but the current owner never bother to fire it up.

The price seems high because that's more than I paid for my '88 Sport... But I got a pretty good deal on my car.

Any thoughts?

What's s value by you? That's how much that Turbo Coupe is worth. No way would I pay $800 for it. Guy who said another guy said it ran means it sure as hell isn't starting. S value is all it's worth. If he won't come down to that walk away. You can find cars that run for $800. Hell the 91 Mark VII in my sig cost me $800 and it ran fine when I bought it. Plus it wasn't rusty and I live in the rust belt. That Turbo Coupe is probably worth ~$300-400 as it sits, maybe even less.

I just bought a non-running one that was complete for $525.00. If you lived near me, I'd sell you the parts you want for less than $400. Hoods especially seem difficult to sell.

$800 is about twice what it's worth.

$500 if it runs and drives. $250-300 if it doesn't and interior is in good shape (which I doubt with the busted out window.

you could make money on it, but it would be a lot of work and take months/years to sell all the parts.

I paid $800 for my TC, but it was complete and unrusted, just in pieces. Junk price is all that it is worth.

Hopefully it comes with 500 dollars worth of parts in the trunk...

Good thing it's not a Fox Mustang...the  that owns it would probably want 3 grand for it.

Yeah, that's an absurd price for that.  That's a $250 car to me, and that depends on how bad other stuff is too.  I bought an 86 tc for 100 not running, and all it needed was a timing belt.
