anyone have experience with converting from CFI tv rod to a cable setup , since we are swapping in a 5.0?
I will have to buy everything pertaining to this part,, it just occurred to me.
the last i recall, i put in a 1981 LTD transmission back in 2001 and this tranny had the rod.
we are converting the engine so i want the cables to connect to the throttle body correctly
Throttle body connection should be fine. I'd check the linkage on the side of the trans. Compare it to the one on your 25th (if they are both column shifted) and see if the brackets are different. If they are the same the cable should bolt right in place of the rod. If need be I can crawl under my Thunderbird and get a picture for you (it has a column shifter).
humm,, no a rush on this at the very moment but im pretty sure i will have to swap in a transmission linkage assembly to accept a cable instead of a rod.
i was just asking if anyone had to do this yet and what i need to buy or locate.
