Poll
Question: Post thine age
I was just looking to get an age demographic for the community here. I'm 22 and have owned a tbird since I was 17. How old (or young) are you?
*EDIT*
If you're older than 50, sorry. Just vote in the 40-50 category. I didn't think there were TOO many members over 50 and I can't edit my poll.
23 here ... and i've found myself to be possibly the laziest person in the world.
I am thinking about buying one of those Mercury Maurarders... We'll see...
I was 49 when I started modding the Tbird, that was 6 years ago...
I'm 29. House payment, car payment, kid on the way, putting the wife through college (she's 9 credits shy of her Master's degree) without student loans because I don't feel like payin for that for 15 or 20 years, a dog, 2 cats, a brother constantly asking for loans.....yup my youth is still here, but the foolish part IS gone.
Got my first cougar at 17 and have had this one since I was 21. Right now all my car upgrade money comes in the form of overtime (I REFUSE to dip into my bank accounts for that) and unfortunately it's been pretty sparse this year.....
46 here, single, two grown kids. First Cougar was a 76, had a 73 T bird before that, I was about19. :D Have had a 74,75,76,78 Cougar, and 2 84s, an 86, 3 87s and an 88. Also had an 87 T bird.
28 (in a week) one t-bird, gone now, but just waiting for my next one.
wife in school, rent, car payment, no money for car fun right now.
21 and trying to figure out wtf I do with all the money I make... I really need to stop buying stuff...
18 but I voted for the 18 to 25 catagorey.
46 here. wanted an 87 since the first day they came out. Finally got mine about 5 years ago. Insurance rates are really high with teen age drivers so i gave/lent the car to my daughter and started riding the MC to work every day. She screwed the car up so bad i took it off the road and bought here a mini-van ha that fixed here (not really) my son started driving last fall so i pulled the bird out went through it and now i'm sharing with him till he's done high school. Learning alot about fixing these things. This board has really help with the long range plans. Starting to accumlate parts for the big day when its all mine again. 8.8 rear 5.0 h.o. new seats so far. thinking of a turbo kit to fit the 5.0
Good Lord! You put three options for teenagers in there then lumped 25yo's in with 40yo's? WF planet are you living on?
...and there she goes on her new crotch rocket, leaving a trail of bills as she goes. :giggle:
25 and this is my second T-bird. Had a '91 3.8 at 20, and got my TC at 22. Kid is here, (Coira's (http://photobucket.com/albums/v613/oldraven/Coira/) just over a month :hick: ), and we're free of our student loans, but not the mortgage, or car payment.
LOL, spent more on the bird this year then the bike... :flip: gotta stop doing that
haha! i beat the 16 and under by 2 years ;) ill be getting my permit next summer as i get to torture one of those "special" impalas
i have had my car since i was(actually keys in my hand)..... for about 2 years in september.....and ive rebuilt the front brakes, new valvecover gaskets, the usual oil change (s), new radio, speakers, seats, exhaust, new rims (need tires!) new alt, new ignition stuff..., HO upper, and all that cost more than the car itself.......which was $50 :D :flip: the total ammount was around $475 with all stuff i bought for it......
I'm 22 years old, bought my first Thunderbird last fall, a '91 with a 3.8, killed a deer with it this winter and decided it needs retiring. About three months ago I bought my '85 Thunderbird 5.0, and I look forward to having enough money to really build it up.
17, but I unno about the whole coolest thign on 4wheels...
Same here. I drive a rusted and dented primer black 88 Bird. Right now the thing wont even move. So no I'm not the coolest thing on 4 wheels. Had the car since 14, now I'm 17. Paid $150 for the car and put at least 300 in it. Well more like 175 since the HO isnt in it yet.
33 here. Bought my first Thunderbird in '92 (an '85 V6), traded it on a '91 V6, sold that, bought an '88 Cougar V8, wrecked that, bought back the '91, sold it again, bought an '87 T-Bird sport, sold it, bought the current '88 5.0.
Of course, that's just T-Bird/Cougar related vehicles. I have owned close to thirty cars/trucks and a motorcycle or two (in bold are the ones I still have):
One Buick ('78 Skylark)
Two Pontiacs (78 Trans Am and 80 Formula Firebirds)
Five Fords: 66 Galaxie 500, 85 V6,87 V8,88 V8,91 V6 T-Birds
Two Mercury's: 85 Topaz, 88 V8 Cougar
One Chevy: '83 C10 pickup
One Saturn: 94 SC2
Three Hyundais: '84 Pony, '85 Stellar, 96 Accent GT
Three Nissans: '87 coupe & '89 4X4 wagon Sentra, '90 King Cab truck
One Toyota: '82 4X4 truck
Two Jeeps: 2* 87 Cherokee 4X4
One Dodge: '88 Dakota 4X4
Two Hondas: CB450SC Nighthawk motorcycle, TRX350 4X4 quad
One Volvo: 85 740 GLE
One Daewoo: '90 Passport Optima
*edit* May as well list the snowmobiles as well, since I listed the bikes:
Five Skidoos: one 1972, two 1974 399 Olympics, 1979 440 Everest, 1997 Formula Mach III 600
Two Arctic Cats: 1974 440 Cheetah, 1979 500 Pantera
Three Ski-Roules: 1971 440, two 1973 340's
That's about all I can remember...
23 here. Bought my first Cougar when I was 16.
I'm on my third one so far.
20 here.
Bought my cougar when I was 16 and I did think I was the coolest thing on four wheels at the time.
Now it's college and work and because of distances I drive now a days, a car payment for my new car. I couldn't afford to keep the cougar running on a weekly basis so now it is my pleasure vehicle  . Makes me feel young again.
20 here
my car was given to me when i was 15 or 16, and i hated it, i ended up finding the old ezboard, and fell in love with my car, and basically learned these cars through and through, then november of last year, i bought my turbo coupe for 500 bucks
I'm 25. I'll be 26 on August 10.
First car: (http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/carpics/85cougar.jpg)
Second car: (http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/carpics/20th/front1.jpg)
Third car: (http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/carpics/xr7small.jpg)
Current car: (http://www.dnet.net/user/jkirchman/carpics/87ls/87ls.jpg)
I'll be 34 in a few months.
Holy shiznite, lad! We were born on the same day!
19 bout to be 20 in about 3 months.
I know, I meant to put more options in, but got some timeout error when trying to edit the poll. That's why there's no option for over 50 and no option for those in their 30's. The posts are more important than the poll.
I can't argue with that. :)
24 now will be 25 sep. 1
On my 3rd Fox.
1: 88 3.8 T-bird 19-22
2: 91 Mark VII LSC 22-23
3: 88 5.0 Cougar XR7 23-25
I have 3 kids.
Right now I have 5 cars total all paid for a house that is paid for and still have no money.
Thats about the way it went for me. I didn't like the 85 bird the way it was and when I found the ezboard I learned how easily these cars could be modified I began to love the car and it's potential. I was a breath away from giving it away too. I Never looked back after that. The 25-30 range could of been "Old enough to know better, but too young to care". Yes I stole that from a country song. That seems to sum it up for me right now. Im 25, voted in the 25-40 range.
25... will be 26 on july 20. will be picking up a Michigan driver's license pretty soon. ^_^
20... Got the car when i was 17 and got the license when i was 19. But sometimes i feel like the coolest thing on the road and some others like i need a Lambo (i dont like the porsches...)
Are there some Freud Disciples here ... ?

I'll be expecting parades and fireworks!
23... Born Nov. 12 1981
Just turned 23 in May on my 5th cougar. first one was an 85 when I was 16 that I had to make payments on $600 (total)to parents, 2nd one was a mint 88 that parents bought for $2500 and also had to pay them back. My 3rdth, 4th and 5th I bought with my tax returns/money saved up. Dont see myself purchasing any more though. The only thing I think I would buy still is a 94Bird SC but it would have to be mint, blue, low miles with a stick. R/T will be paid off in 3 more years and the house in 30(move in this weekend). Cleaning up the credit cards now and actually looking to trade pegs 95 in or sell it when we buy her something newer within a year.
Good luck to everyone...
73 Bought my '84 T-Bird new on 5/1/84.
28 in October.
I have my 84 'Bird. Been in the family since '88.
I've also owned two MN12 platforms a 89 5spd SC (totaled after bootcamp) and a 90 Automatic XR7 (Sold for $900).
Other Cars:
93 Modded ATX SHO (traded in on CSVT)
98.5 Contour SVT 3.0L (may be for sale)
90 SHO (gave to my younger sibling)
00 Lightning (for sale)
21, bought the Cougar GS when i was 17,
and bought the XR7 last September (I was 20).
and I have spent well over $10,000 on the 2 put together.
I have about $6,000 - 7,000 CDN invested in the XR7 and I haven't even driven it yet!
Brother, I think that makes you clinically insane. :giggle:
What the ... I thought you bought that thing with pretty much everything it needed (besides those rims)?
Anyways, better learn how to drive that car so I can see it at Cat Jam!!
I'd be happy if thats all I had in my Bird, course I've owned it for 8 years(july '97) and have driven it for about 7.. (It snoozed in my garage for 15 months, while I was getting goodies together for the 5.0 swap)....
Im 16 with a 1988 Thunderbird Sport with less than 120,000 miles.
By the way Speed parts are pending
35 here, February 11...I'm old enough to know better, but I'm forgetting more and more every day. I'm on my way BACK to 18 and ya'll better look out!! :D :D :D I sold my 2003 Cavalier and gave up the payments for an old 'clunker' (as my kids put it), my 87 Cat. I was tired of looking over my shoulder and seeing another car identical to mine, and knowing there was nothing I could do to make it different (especially paying $250 a month for it). I don't have to worry about that now because most people wouldn't drive anything that looks this saaadd. It's on it's way though.
I am old enough to get in troble legally :D
21, got my first turbo coupe when i just turned 18 and i'v only owned thunderbirds sence. this is my third, i even got my gf hooked. she'll probley be on hear as soon as she gets internet again, can mark her into the 18-25 catigory to.
19 and have had my Cougar for a little more than a year.
Wow, you are prolly the only original owner of a fox bird on these boards. =)
blknredcougar bought his new in 85 so we have at least two original owners.
Unless blknredcougar has a tbird, that was an incorrect statement :P
:toilet: It's all in the same family :dunce:
he isnt lying about his girlfriend being hooked
he came down to pick up a transmission and clutch from a buddy of mine, who works at a body shop, since the shop is 10-15 minutes from here, i went to go meet them
well, i get there, fighting my TPS issue, so my buddy tells me to just pull the car in the shop so i can swap em out, and i got a K&N cone from him
Manson and his girl show up before i started working on it, his girlfriend walks into the shop, no Hi, no Hello, walkes up to my car, looks at it for a minute or two, and says "whos turbo coupe is this?!"
25 turn 26 in November. Have had my 86 since I was 15, bought an 85 3.8L in 97' blew both head gaskets then sent it to the junkyard, ( had plans to make it turbo powered) Then got my 89' in 98', then bought my 55' in 2001. 86' & the 55' were pretty rough when I got em, been tweaking on them ever since. ( way to much money spent)
