Looking for a ARB for a drag specific set up.. who would you recommend? Is a mustang ARB practically the same? Thanks
Mustang arb should work there is upr and team z I would go with team z
I ordered the Team Z one and it arrived yesterday. I measured between the frame rails on a TC that I have up on stands (no rearend or rear suspension) and the distance was the same as a Mustang where they mount the ARB by the upper torque boxes. My only concern is the fact that the 87-88 bird rear control arms are a little longer than a fox stang which moves the whole rearend back in relation to the torque boxes which might make the arms on the ARB a tad too short.
This weekend I am going to test fit it in the TC that is on stands and take some measurements to se if the ARB arms are long enough for the links to end up properly located on the rear axle.
I have a upr one for a mustang and it fit fine. I do like the design from TRZ Motorsports though. ( Bought the one I have years ago before I started dealing with TRZ for all my suspension parts).
I saw you posted on YB, you def. need a arb to get that bird launching straight. I went a personnal best 60 foot at the World Cup Finals this year(1.40).
The arb will work fine , I have had mine on the my 87 Bird for years. My rear end is centered in the wheel wells also. I have TRZ Motorsports double adjustable upper and lower control arms.
Good to know. My best 60' (1.46) has been the result of playing with launch rpm and tire pressure, but I know it could be better as my bird rolls over pretty bad when it launches. Hoping the ARB is a step closer to a 1.3X!
