Post by: 30thtbird on June 26, 2005, 08:53:56 PM
when i was at the junkyard the other day,i noticed ,ona mustang conv.,that there wereplates covering the torque boxes.they appeared to be riveted on.are these the factory torque box stiffeners that i have read about?would they possibly be worth removing and using as an upgrade on my tbird?

the convertable sn95's got some subframe connectors (nothing more than thin gauge steel box tubing), not sure about fox's

i wouldnt bother with them, because the holes for the rivots can/will elongate, and basically defeat any purpose of having them, get some thicker gauge steel and have it welded up, it would be your best bet
