Just wanted to say hello to every one
This 85 thunderbird is my first and only car so far and i fell in love with her the day i drove the car out of my friends driveway i payed 300$ for the car then spun her out hit the sidewalk bent the sht out of the driver side rims and bent a axleshaft ended up paying way more to fix that then i spent on the car :D
I ended up getting some nice stock mustang mags for it that look pretty good
I have ben wanting to go to a carb set up for a while if anyone out there has done it befor some advice would be awsome she has the cfi system in now
idk why im posting just wanted to talk to someone who has had the chance to drive a car this awsome
MY dad used to be a diehard ford guy he had a 65 cyclone that had a supercharged 347 stroker in it with i think a 3 speed top loader 9in rear with 411 gears
im really starting to love the older fords

the car sat for 10 years befor i got it so theres rust all over the doors
i have done alot to it so far i had the trans out and pulled the hole top end off a while back
i have had issues with the tv rod for the aod but i got all that figured out

Yea i got this car from a firends friend that had it sitting in his yardfor 10+ years it only had 35k miles on it when i got her i replaced every gasket seal and all the brakes
I have since added 170k miles to her i love this car its still mostly stock besides exhaust and i put a true double roller chain in her

how hard is it to go from cfi to mpfi can i reallyuse the tp end out of a 5l explorer?
i have ben told by a friend they have adapter sets for my harness to go from 2 injectores to the 8 in the mpfi system will by cpu be ok with adding the 6 more injectore to the system?
Will the fuel pump thats in it be ok to run with the mpfi since it has the cfi
you really wait to use an entire harness from a 87-93 mustang, or ideally, a 86-88 tbird/cougar. coolcats.net has a very basic writeup to let you get a better idea what you need, and what your getting yourself into.
would love to find a parts car found a few people out here selling a setup for mpfi but they all seem to be chuwed up and way to expensive
i also agree with what jcassity said all in all im only in to this car around 900$ and i have put a ton of miles on it
